Introduction

This program provides an overview of the Tourism and Events industry and introduces practical administrative skills including safety and security in the workplace, customer service, simple computing tasks, and some basic administrative tasks. By combining these two qualifications, you will have the knowledge and skills required to work across both of these exciting industries, giving you a competitive edge and increased opportunities. 

If you’re a natural organiser with a flair for events, love to travel or wanting to open the door to a career in Tourism this is the course for you. Working in events can take you from festivals and conferences to fundraisers and shows.  While the travel and tourism sector can have you working at some of the best attractions or destinations around the world.

Course Duration – 12 Months

Class – 60 minute class per week

Tutorial – 60 minute tutorial per week

Study expectations – 1 hour per week of homework/course work not including readings

Course Intake – Start of each school year and mid year

Classes and tutorials have a range of times throughout the week to fit in with school timetables. The school, student, and Redmako will find the best time slot for the student to complete their classes as to not interrupt their core subjects.

At Redmako we pride ourselves on our High Touch approach, all students are assigned a trainer as well as a tutor who will check in regularly on the student to ensure they are progressing and if they aren’t provide the support they need. Our Schools team will also continue to work closely with your school to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Cert II Tourism and Cert III Events will provide you with the knowledge to enter either field in a junior role. The Tourism and Events industry is large and diverse, this qualification helps you to get your foot in the door and open a world of possibilities for your future. Entry Requirements

Eligibility rules apply to students wanting to enrol in this program with Redmako Learning including:

  • Must be aged 15 years or above
  • Students studying in Australia must be an Australian or NZ Citizen or permanent resident

After enrolling in the course, each student must complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) evaluation. This LLN evaluation will assist Redmako Learning in identifying each learner’s needs and the appropriate support required.

Each student must also provide their USI (Unique Student Identifier) before they will gain access to their materials. If you do not have a USI, we will provide instructions of how you can create one.

Course Fees & Payment Options

The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training provides funding for secondary school students to complete one approved Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) qualification funded by the VET Investment Budget while at school. It is important for students and their parents to take the time to consider their training option and be fully aware of the VET investment budget by referring to the QLD Government VETiS School Fact Sheet.

Students can choose to use their VETiS funding to cover the cost of the Certificate II in Tourism. The Certificate II in Tourism + Certificate III in Events will then cost a total of $300

Alternatively if you have already used your VETiS funding and would still like to complete the course for Fee for Service please contact us for the total cost of the course.
